Highly valued by the Romans, Greeks, Asians and Egyptians, Moringa is considered to be the most nutrient rich plant on Earth. Containing more than 90 nutrients, 46 antioxidants, many essential amino acids and healthy proteins, this vegetable tree is known as the ‘Tree of Life’ due it’s highly nutritious qualities.
Here at UliMana, we’re always on the cutting edge of the most nutritious, pure and healthy superfoods. We’ve recently added delicious, raw, organic Moringa Truffles to our line, made with all raw and organic ingredients, including cacao powder, cacao butter, coconut nectar syrup, moringa, cinnamon, vanilla and Celtic sea salt. VegNews named them a ‘Must-Have’!
Moringa has been featured on The Dr. Oz Show and has been found to be so extremely nutritious, it’s almost too good to be true – almost, but not quite, because it is true. Studies have shown in a gram per gram comparison that Moringa has 4 times the potassium of bananas, 4 times the fiber of oats, 14 times the calcium of milk, 9 times the iron of spinach, 2 times the vitamin A of carrots, and 2 times the protein of yogurt! Gluten free and MSG free, Moringa combined with raw, organic cacao is the perfect power food – boost your immune system, receive high quantities of nutrition and enjoy boundless energy!
The food review website, Food Review 101, recently featured four specific, Ulimana truffles: Dark Cacao, Cacao Nib, Coco Nectar, and Peppermint truffles. They gave us a 4.5 out of 5 rating (Thank you, Food Review.) and add that “the flavors are great, the textures are smooth with some of the truffles having a crunch to them, they’re gluten-free and vegan, you can order them online, they contain the ‘joy molecule,’ and the ‘bliss chemical’, and they’re pretty light in calories considering what you’re getting.”
They were also kind enough to include nutritional information for two truffles:
- Calories 75
- Fat 5g
- Sodium 50mg
- Carbs 10g
- Fiber 2g
- Sugar 8g
- Protein 1g

Named one of the “Best 50 Magazines” by the Chicago Tribune and the country’s “Best Lifestyle Magazine” in 2008, 2009, and 2010, VegNews declared that Ulimana’s Moringa Truffles are This Week’s Must Have. They even invited us into the coveted and exclusive circle of trust:
“Lo and behold, they [Moringa Truffles] are as smooth, sweet, and sumptuous as their un-raw, un-vegan counterparts, providing the perfect treat for a post-meal chocolaty pick-me-up. Moringa, welcome to our circle of trust.”
We’re thrilled you enjoyed our newest addition to our family.
“…they tasted WAAAAAY better than the truffles I had yesterday! Or, to be quite honest, any that I’ve ever had.”
How’s that for a positive review? We just discovered this little goodie from last year and we had to say “Thank you.” We can’t express how glad we are to know how much you enjoyed our truffles and for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and thorough post. We love all the pictures, too. You make everything look so tempting all over again.
In this review, our Mayan Truffles were sampled and, well, sometimes it’s just better to let the reviewer review. Here is some of what she had to say:
The texture is just awesome – fudgy and very stick-to-your teeth chocolaty with an intense (but somehow not bitter?) chocolate flavor that I really haven’t experienced anywhere else. Maybe its the fact that they’re raw? Or that there’s no refined sugar in them (I’m guessing that could be what improved the texture to awesomeness). And the spice kick of the cayenne pepper – wowza! LOVED IT!
Thanks again. Don’t forget to share because…who doesn’t like a friend with chocolate?
Did you know that the net sales value of confectionaries in 2011 was $55 billion worldwide? The International Cocoa Association did and so did Carol Pinchefsky of Forbes. We didn’t know that either, but do you know what we do know? Ulimana’s Dark Cacao Truffles were voted one of the “Five Best Chocolates You’ve Never Tasted“!
“Of the many raw chocolates on the market, I have to choose the Dark Cacao Truffles one as my favorite for its earthiness and dense richness. As it’s flavored with agave, it gives me a chocolate rush without a sugar rush…and the subsequent sugar crash.”
Thanks, Carol. We’re thrilled you liked them.
Sarah E. Brown, guest product reviewer over at Vegansaurus, recently reviewed our Dark Cacao Raw Truffles. It sounds like she liked them:
I love that each ball is infused with cacao powder, coconut nectar (which is a much lower-glycemic sweetener than refined white sugar and other sweeteners on the market!), high-quality salt, cacao butter, vanilla beans, and various superfoods, depending on the flavor. The goji cherry and the cacao nib truffles are my favorite, but if you prefer your chocolate balls straight up, then get the dark cacao raw truffles.
Thanks for the kind words, Sarah. We’re glad you enjoyed them!
